The Position:
Reporting to the Manager of Ancillary Services, the Ancillary Services Assistant will be responsible for performing various duties such as assisting in the Campus Shop, Howard Cafe and the laundry as needed.
Hours of work are normally Monday to Friday during school days. Flexibility may be needed for occasional weekend work, and during school closures.
The successful candidate will have the following skills, background and interest:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in a similar role is preferred.

Capacity to work at a moderate to high level of physical effort including the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
-
Strong organizational and time management skills.
-
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Ability to be flexible and work in different areas as needed.
-
Safety conscious.
-
Available to work the occasional weekend on short notice.
-
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, and basic computer skills.
Responsibilities include:
-Perform Campus Shop Associate duties:
-
Make students, parents, and staff feel welcome, and assist with their shopping needs.

Process payments, refunds, and online orders.
-Perform Howard Café Attendant duties:
-
Provides service at the Cafe counter, charging food and drinks to staff and student accounts.
-
Preparing foods such as coffee, tea and smoothies etc.
-Sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding clothing, towels, sheets and other items in the laundry.
-Assisting with general office duties, internal mail, and delivery of packages.
-Other duties as required.
Criminal Record Check:
Must pass and maintain a clear Solicitor General criminal record check for the purpose of working with children.
