Landon School is committed to the ethical, intellectual, and personal development of boys. We challenge and inspire them to think deeply, individually, and broadly; to live with respect and honor; and to grow into healthy, well-rounded men of integrity and character who seek to make a positive difference in the world around them.
Landon is a diverse community committed to creating an environment where boys are encouraged to strive, reach, and endeavor towards becoming their best selves. This is done through our teacher-coach-mentor model of instruction, our caring and dedicated faculty, and a robust co-curricular program.
Landon seeks an innovative and inspirational Upper School Art Teacher to join its faculty of teacher-coach-mentors full-time for the 2024-2025 school year. An ideal candidate will be a practicing artist who possesses a minimum of 3 years teaching and coaching experience in preparing and mentoring students in the culture, technology, and process of Painting and Drawing. Successful candidates will demonstrate aptitude to participate in a collaborative working environment with seven other Art Department faculty with an extensive knowledge of art materials, dedicated to the ethical, intellectual, physical, and social development of boys through the visual arts. Candidates must be interested in working with ninth through twelfth grade students of all abilities to help develop their acuity to draw and paint from observation. Samples of student and personal work may be requested from candidates later in the process. The position includes coaching and advising responsibilities in addition to classroom teaching and offers many chances to engage with students beyond the classroom.
Landon School offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, an attractive 403(b) retirement plan, professional development opportunities, free lunch, and much more.
