Trinity Episcopal School is seeking a Development Director effective immediately. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Development Director manages and executes the annual giving program, which includes the Annual Fund, Faculty Appreciation and Angel Funds, and Grandfriends’ Day Memorial/Tribute program, and entails cultivation, direct mail, personal visits, prospect screening, database segmentation, volunteer management, stewardship and related communications/marketing efforts.
The director also oversees all functions of alumni relations, including working with the Alumni Association to craft and execute annual activities designed for alumni and their parents; and implementing value-added services that engage alumni and encourage long-term participation in the life of the School. The Development Director supports the work of the School by promoting the mission, values, and policies of Trinity Episcopal School.
Essential Responsibilities include the following:
Annual Giving
- Works with the Director of Advancement to set performance goals for annual giving and strategies to achieve them.
- Works with the Advancement Director to organize and deploy volunteer fundraising leadership among parents, grandparents, alumni and, from time to time, other constituencies who will advance the School’s mission and vision.
- Identifies and researches annual giving prospects.
- Organizes annual giving solicitations, including timing and nature of appeals and writing copy.
- Maintains donor records and produces reports as needed.
- Conducts prospect research and implements a system by which research is routinely conducted.
- Works with Marketing & Communications Director to produce videos, website content and other marketing pieces to promote annual fundraising priorities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement or Head of School.
Stewardship
Responsibilities for this position also include planning and implementing stewardship activity and community events sponsored by the Advancement Office. Main events include the annual Together for Trinity celebration, Caretakers Circle donor reception and Grandfriends’ Day.
- With the Director of Advancement, implements stewardship strategies to assure appropriate recognition of and regular contact with donors by Head of School, Director of Advancement or other key individuals.
- Manages any gift recognition projects or events.
- With the Director of Advancement, develops all stewardship-related content of the website.
Alumni Relations
- Plans, directs and executes programs in concert with Alumni Association and members of the Advancement Team to help meet the School’s and Association’s fundraising and alumni relations goals.
- Maintains communications with alumni, encouraging long-term relationships, through digital newsletters, alumni panel discussions, reunion events, and engagement through social media channels.
- Serves as the School liaison for the Alumni Council and the Alumni Association.
- Oversees maintenance of alumni records and produces reports as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement or Head of School.

Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellence in fund development, including relationship management and cultivation of client/donors.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices regarding gift processing, donor records, database research and maintenance. Experience with Blackbaud’s Raisers’ Edge is ideal.
- Experience in educational advancement, marketing, volunteer management, special event planning is a plus.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Respect and passion for Trinity Episcopal School mission and vision.
- Ability to represent the School to external constituents and work effectively with internal constituencies of various generations and cultures.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong computer and social media skills.
- Must be able to travel, work evenings and weekends.
