The Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance and Human Resources.  This position supports the accounting department with the processing of payroll and onboarding new employees, assists with timely reporting of daily transactions relating to Student billing, assists with month end close and timely reporting of financial statements to managers, leadership and the board. 

Additionally, this candidate is very organized and has experience effectively managing multiple projects at the same time to ensure all duties are accurately prioritized and completed on time. They are flexible in a fast-paced work environment, have a willingness to pitch in, and a willingness to develop expertise in all areas of Accounting.  This candidate is also discrete with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Track and process transactions related to student billing
• Reconcile student billing accounts receivable
• Enter new student contracts into billing system
• Assist with semi-monthly payroll processing and other H.R. onboarding
• Assist department heads with reviewing monthly reports and suggesting correcting entries.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual closing in a timely fashion
• Prepare documents to support annual audits
• Assist with other special projects as needed

Skills and Qualifications

• 5 years experience in an Accounting department
• Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Prior experience with Blackbaud a plus
• Experience with financial ERP solutions also a plus
