Starting school year 2024-25
Our Upper school Science and STEM Teacher will specialize in making math/science vibrant, fun and relevant for our students in grades 6-8 in both theory and practical application. Candidates will be skilled in teaching science /STEM curriculum to students across all levels of ability and interest, through an interdisciplinary, inquiry-rich & project-based approach, with experience in a Montessori environment a plus.
Candidates should be excited to work collaboratively with co-teachers across all subject areas, ready to stretch beyond their comfort zones to create meaningful, contextual work within our unit themes.
Candidates will coordinate with the Upper School team and Middle School coordinator, , learning specialist and any public or private therapists involved in supporting students as they take on the challenges of academic and personal learning in adolescence.
- Bachelor’s degree in education (Science or STEM)
- Master’s degree (Science education) preferred
- Previous experience working with 6th to 8th grade students (at least 3yrs)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Science content/curriculum
- Ability to collaborate, compromise and be flexible
- Ability to listen and clearly communicate with strong, talented teachers
