Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in supporting students from a social-emotional, behavioral and academic standpoint (during instructional time and beyond)
- Provide 1:1 support to individual students in various school settings
- Provide positive-based behavioral interventions
- Provide functional breaks with students as needed
- Implement strategies as outlined in Behavior Strategic Plan/Behavior Intervention Plan
- Participate in developing and monitoring data collection systems to ensure the success of the behavior plan
- Support and supervise students throughout the school day (including during recess coverage according to coverage schedule)
- Consult and collaborate with Student Support Team
- Assist teachers in quarterly report writing if needed
- Attend weekly, bi-weekly and monthly meetings with Student Support Team as well as IEP (if needed) and other meetings that pertain to the students being served
- Learn about student profiles that pertain to specific students being served
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports, including through the Emote system
- Develop a consistent method of communication with the parents/guardians of the student you are working with (weekly, daily reporting, etc.), so progress/ areas for improvement can be identified.
Qualifications:
- Previous classroom experience providing 1:1 support
- Undergraduate degree in education or related field

- ABA experience
- Special Education experience

About Chartwell School
The mission of Chartwell School is to diagnostically educate students with specific learning variations, including dyslexia, in a way that provides them with the academic skills, confidence, creativity and perseverance necessary to meet the challenges of mainstream education and lifelong learning.
Our students have average or better intelligence but may have struggled in traditional classrooms due to dyslexia or other learning disabilities and academic challenges. We provide co-ed students ages 5-18 with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to succeed.
