Chartwell School is seeking a High School/Middle School Mathematics teacher and instructional specialist to join our rapidly growing team.
Chartwell is an independent private school, serving 200 students, on a 60-acre campus, in the coastal area of Seaside, California. For 40 years, Chartwell has been serving students in grades 1-12, who think and learn differently. Chartwell offers top-quality, individualized instruction to students with language-based learning differences. Small classes of 4-10 students are crafted by level and learning style. One hundred percent of graduating seniors are accepted to a 4-year college. Half of our faculty hold at least one advanced degree.
Our faculty within the STEAM department prioritize enhancing mathematical practices and skill development, while designing powerful and stimulating experiences for students. Our philosophy of creating engaging, purposeful, multi-sensory, and hands-on learning.
The successful candidate is responsible for understanding student learning profiles and meeting the needs of individual students. A solid understanding of mathematics concepts and applications is necessary. Significant experience with multi-sensory direct instruction, technology, and blended learning platforms and teaching practices is desired. A Master’s degree in Mathematics and/or Special Education is preferred.

About Chartwell School
The mission of Chartwell School is to diagnostically educate students with specific learning variations, including dyslexia, in a way that provides them with the academic skills, confidence, creativity and perseverance necessary to meet the challenges of mainstream education and lifelong learning.
Our students have average or better intelligence but may have struggled in traditional classrooms due to dyslexia or other learning disabilities and academic challenges. We provide co-ed students ages 5-18 with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to succeed.
