Dawson, a K-12 independent school of 535 students located east of Boulder on a beautiful 112-acre campus, seeks an exceptional Middle School Director. The Middle School Director will work closely with the Head of School and Leadership Team to create a culture of positivity, partnership, and connection throughout the 6-8 community of faculty, students, and families. This work requires a spirit of encouragement, support, transparency, participation, and enthusiasm for Dawson. The focus of the Middle School Director will be sustaining positive school culture, implementing programs effectively and efficiently, and ensuring proactive communication, and supporting middle school students and teachers.

Professional Qualifications
- Independent school experience in a variety of roles in and out of the classroom
- Master’s degree in education or a related field preferred
- Demonstrated success in program development and implementation
- Demonstrated experience in, and enthusiasm for, contemporary educational practices, leadership development, faculty growth, social-emotional learning, and community building
- Demonstrated literacy expertise and learning support exposure
- Strong Word and Excel skills on Mac and Google Suite

Duties
- Report to Head of School and serve on the Leadership Team
- Direct entirety of middle school programs, including curriculum, arts, and activities
- Coordinate work of the Middle School Leadership Team
- Recruit and evaluate middle school faculty and staff
- Assess, and address when necessary, strengths and challenges of faculty and staff
- Work with the Upper School Director and Lower School Director to ensure continuity, consistency, and opportunities for connection
- Work with parents, students, and other constituencies to foster enthusiasm for the work of the School
- Participate actively in strategic planning
