The Ursuline School is a private, independent, Catholic, college preparatory girls’ school, grades 6 through 12 located in New Rochelle, New York, 20 miles north of Manhattan in a diverse, suburban community. The school was established in 1897 in the spirit of St. Angela Merici, foundress of the Ursuline Order. Start Date: January 16 - June 18, 2024
Position: Full-time; High School (9th - 12th); 10-month
Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 annually (prorated) commensurate with background and experience
Responsibilities:
- Communicating with, advising and supporting students and parents throughout the college search and admissions process
- Presenting information to different constituencies on the topic of college admissions
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop policies and practices that support the college application process
- Representing The Ursuline School to colleges and universities
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with college and university admissions officers
- Staying abreast of current issues and trends related to college admissions, financial aid, and gap year programs
- Planning and conducting informational programs for students and parents throughout the academic year
- Partnering with faculty and staff to oversee students’ academic progress towards graduation requirements
Experience/Qualifications:
- Commitment to Catholic, faith-based education
- Bachelor’s degree in School Counseling or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of college/academic counseling experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, college admissions staff, parents and students
