York Prep School is seeking a Leave Replacement Spanish Teacher for the spring semester—from January to June 2024. They will be responsible for teaching up to four sections of Spanish in grades 6-12 and take on faculty duties as assigned. The Spanish Teacher will report to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Humanities. 

The Spanish Teacher is an educator who 

• Demonstrates fluency in written and spoken Spanish, preferably a native speaker 
• Has a passion for working with middle- and high school-aged students 
• Has experience with differentiating instruction for diverse learners and helping them to reach their full potential 
• Has knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning, including the use of educational technology and data to inform instruction 
• Exercises effective communication and interpersonal skills 
• Has the ability to collaborate effectively 
• Understands culturally responsive pedagogy 
• Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion 
• Believes in the mission, values, and safeguarding policies of York Prep School 

Responsibilities:

• Teaches up to four sections of Spanish 
• Develop curriculum that includes a balance of grammar and vocabulary studies, speaking practice, and culture studies with connections to social justice and identity 
• Assume faculty duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish, Spanish Education, or a related field required 
• Master’s Degree preferred 

Prorated annual salary of $70,000 - $85,000
