Derryfield is offering an opportunity to a detail-oriented, systems-driven individual who also has excellent interpersonal skills, to join its 5-person team as the Philanthropy Office Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy & Engagement, the Coordinator will manage Derryfield’s constituent database, gift processing, and sending acknowledgment letters; manage financial reporting and serve as liaison to the school’s Business Office; speak with donors around the execution of their gifts to the school; provide event planning assistance and coordination; provide support for mailings, pledge reminders, and events; and serve as office manager for the Philanthropy Office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weekly gift entry and appropriate acknowledgement for annual, capital, in-kind, and endowment giving and Breakthrough Manchester.
- Send pledge reminders and conduct follow up with donors to ensure pledge payment.
- Provide support and coordination for events including running lists, day of logistical support, and active member of the events team.
- Process monthly reports and reconcile with the Business Office.
- Run regular reports for constituent lists and fundraising dashboards.
- Pull lists for the annual report, appeals and event invitations as well as keep and maintain list criteria for Derryfield and Breakthrough Manchester.
- Provide needed reports for annual audit.
- Provide data for annual industry wide analysis DASL/INDEX.
- Periodically audit internal data, and suggest improvements for improved data standards and clean up projects.
- Work with colleagues in Admission and Academic administration to improve the flow of data in and out of Raiser’s Edge.
- Update life events of our alumni in the database.
- Support Manager of The Derryfield Fund in creating and sending digital fundraising appeals.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record managing detail-oriented systems, experience working with financial data and tracking, experience using a complex database, experience (either paid or volunteer) planning and managing events, the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, board members, and other donors, and a willingness to join a high-functioning and collaborative team to perform in a wide variety of roles on behalf of The Derryfield School.
Must possess a desire to learn and grow, have a sense of humor, and be self motivated.
Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office products preferred.
