Meet Greenwood Christian Academy:
Education is one of the great battles being waged in the 21st century. It is a battle because those who control the flow of education today shape the minds, hearts, and leadership of the next generation. The crisis in education is being felt in all areas of our culture; from politics, to business, to family, and science. The problem is not from a lack of vision, but a lack of “fixed” vision. The world teaches that there is no absolute morality, and we wonder why our children struggle to find meaning in life or why there is a lack of integrity in the world. GCA believes there is a different path in education. We believe that true education begins and ends with the exaltation of Christ as king over all life.
GCA offers a world-class Preschool -12 education to students in a Christ-centered community. Students from diverse backgrounds across south-central Indiana thrive in GCA’s family-focused environment. Vibrant academic offerings from a highly qualified faculty, an intentional focus on spiritual formation and discipleship, and a variety of outstanding athletic and extracurricular opportunities combine to create an excellent education option for Christian families in the Johnson County area.
Mission
To pursue academic, spiritual, and extra-curricular excellence in a Christ-centered community.
Vision
To equip students to be servant leaders, relevant in the world, pursuing God’s purpose and will for their lives.
Core Values
Respect - We are committed to teaching and modeling respect for God, His Word, His creation, and others so that students will come to salvation in Jesus Christ and treat their fellow citizens and the world with dignity and honor (Romans 12:10, Romans 13:1-2).
Integrity - We are committed to teaching and modeling honesty, truthfulness, and Biblical morality so that students can be trustworthy, valued, and contribute positively to society (Psalm 106:3, II Corinthians 8:21).
Compassion - We are committed to teaching and modeling compassion so that students can effectively share the gospel, minister to those in need, and consider others as more important than themselves (Mark 10:45, Philippians 2:3).
Excellence - We are committed to teaching and modeling the pursuit of excellence in all things for the glory of God (I Corinthians 10:31).
Academic Philosophy
Greenwood Christian Academy is fully accredited by the State of Indiana. Our academic philosophy encourages students to a life of engaged learning, leadership and service. We continue to hire, train, and retain a highly qualified faculty, committed to encouraging and mentoring student growth. Our desire to present a “living curriculum” prepares students for a successful transition into university, ministry, the military, or world of work. Our goal is to inspire young men and women to reach their highest potential as students, servants, and leaders.
Distinctives
A GCA education is now more affordable than ever for many Hoosier families due to the recent expansion of the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program, commonly known as the state’s voucher program.
GCA is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and the Association of Christian Schools International. Our philosophy of education is rooted in the freedom to educate not to a political or cultural agenda, but rather in how students were created to learn.
GCA is not directly affiliated with one specific local church. More than 75 area churches are represented in the GCA Family.
