POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Fundraising Campaign Director will oversee the planning and execution of the public phase of the campaign and overall Alumni and Development communications strategy. The position requires a balance of creativity and interpersonal skills, project management and process-oriented functions, and both leadership gifts and an inclusive lens to the work of taking the campaign public. The Fundraising Campaign Director will manage one to three professionals and support the School being ready for the next campaign.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- With the Chief Advancement Officer, develops and executes a comprehensive strategic plan for taking the School's campaign public. These responsibilities will include overseeing the internal team focused on coordinating different parts of the public phase, and managing leadership volunteer committees related to the campaign (e.g., campaign cabinet and other campaign committees, alumnae giving initiative, etc.).
- In close collaboration with the Chief Communication Officer, develops and executes a comprehensive strategic plan for A&D communications, including the campaign (e.g., case statements, multimedia, website, donor materials, etc.), The Hotchkiss Fund micro-campaigns, and other A&D departments.
- Oversees branding of A&D communications, ensuring a consistent look and feel within the School’s visual branding guidelines. These responsibilities will include working closely with the School's Communications Office, outside vendors, and A&D teams, including The Hotchkiss Fund, Alumni & Parent Engagement, Donor Relations, Leadership Gifts, and Advancement Services.
- Partners on the planning and execution of specific events related to taking the campaign public. These responsibilities will include working closely with the Alumni & Parent Engagement, Leadership Gifts, and Donor Relations teams when events have a shared purpose.
- Maintains a portfolio of up to 20 high-level prospects with own fundraising goals.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of five years experience or combination of education and work experience in related fields.
- Team player with excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, make good decisions, and solve problems as they arise.
- Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to be discreet with sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with alumni, parents, and friends.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
- Office environment.
- Repetitive (keyboard) motion.
- At events, a significant amount of time standing/walking.
- Periodic need to carry boxes (no more than 50 lbs), move tables and chairs, hang signs, and other similar tasks for events.
