The Gateway School seeks an experienced Literacy Specialist to assist the Director of Language and Literacy in overseeing the implementation of the School’s reading and writing programs. The Literacy Specialist will support classroom instruction by assessing the strengths and needs of students and will provide information to classroom teachers, faculty, parents and specialized personnel in order to ensure effective, direct instruction of language, literacy and critical thinking skills. Further, the Literacy Specialist will administer informal and formal assessments to monitor student progress and to inform the delivery of diagnostic instruction.
