Tessa International school is a thriving bilingual international school located in Hoboken, New Jersey, just one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We currently enroll students from early childhood to the Primary 3rd Grade, with plans to expand to the Primary 5th grade in the coming years. Our preschool section is accredited by the French Ministry of National Education, and we are in the process of seeking accreditation for the Primary levels. Additionally, we are currently accredited by the International Baccalaureate organization.
We offer our families the choice of three languages: French, Spanish, or Mandarin. In preschool, we provide an immersion program in the target language, with some classes taught by English-speaking specialists. From Primary, the program becomes bilingual, involving English speaking and target language speaking teachers.
For the 2024-2025 school year, we are looking for an Early Childhood Spanish Lead Teacher to be a lead in one of our Spanish track classes. This position provides excellent opportunities to explore new teaching practices within an international, positive and collaborative environment.
Your responsibilities include:
Plan and implement high-quality lessons reflecting best practices based on the skills of French National Education and IB (International Baccalaureate) programs. These clear, well-thought-out lessons connect theoretical learning to real-world concepts and situations and spark enthusiasm and academic excellence in the classroom
Provide the necessary support to students, particularly through the practice of differentiation
Create a positive and caring learning environment
Use a variety of teaching and assessment methods appropriate to the development and needs of all students
Regularly monitor students’ academic, personal, emotional and social progress
Collaborate with colleagues, management and other members of the school in a constructive and cooperative manner
Use technology and digital technology appropriately in the classroom to improve learning and communicate with families
Establish and maintain an atmosphere within the class conducive to learning, in particular through the effective management of student behavior
Communicate regularly, clearly and effectively with students, parents and colleagues
Perform other occasional tasks that may be assigned to you
Contribute to Tessa’s mission and values
Contribute to a climate of respect and understanding between all members of the educational community

Requirements:
You are/have:
Native Spanish speaker or perfectly bilingual
Master's degree in Education preferred
Minimum 3 years of work experience
Passionate about your job
Able to plan fun and thematic lessons within programs
Curious, enthusiastic, and positive
A very good level of English (B2 minimum – recommended for quality communication with the rest of the team and families)
Adaptable (international experience preferred)
International Baccalaureate experience IB PYP (preferred)
