Educators Collaborative is pleased to support The Barstow School, a co-ed, preschool-grade 12 school in Kansas City, MO, with their search for a President to assume duties in July 2025.
The next President of The Barstow School will join an environment steeped in academic excellence, accustomed to innovation and a community that is committed to preparing globally competent students who value interaction with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, employ diplomacy and hone leadership skills to adapt to a changing world. A future-leaning, entrepreneurial educator who finds great joy in the daily life of the school, the next President will lead this highly regarded preschool to grade 12 school, uniquely structured to serve students in Kansas City, online and abroad. With an innovative and inspiring vision for contemporary independent education, the next President of Barstow will set their sights on envisioning education in a future-oriented context. Celebrated for its breadth of educational offerings across four divisions, and its population of both domestic and international students in the Upper School, Barstow is a community that has long held the whole-child as a key defining measure, and a school where living meaningful lives and impacting the world in which they live, is foundational.
Guided by its mission, “to promote sound scholarship and to give symmetrical development to mind, body and character,” the faculty and staff at Barstow inspire young people to explore their interests—academic, athletic, artistic, personal. A supportive and generous environment that rejects the notion of one defined version of success, the Barstow community aims for students to find their voices and develop as leaders who can find fulfillment and have a positive impact anywhere.
