Packer is looking for an IT Professional to drive the deliver of personable and helpful user support in our Tech Center, the busy tech hub of The Packer Collegiate Institute.
The Technology Service Coordinator coordinates and delivers support for a variety of desktop and laptop computers, classroom A/V technology, printers and other networked devices. This position supports all Packer technology used by students, faculty and staff.
As a member of the Technology Department, this position will manage support requests, work closely with other members of the department, and deliver technical support for end users.

- Continually improve self-help resources for our users
Our department serves students, parents and employees directly as well as through essential operational support. This is not a remote position and working on campus is required. Regular in-office attendance and punctuality is essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Manage, evaluate and assign all support requests
- Supervise Help Desk staff and direct the department’s Administrative Assistant
- Provide laptop and desktop support to all students, faculty and staff (and parents)
- Provide technical support for Packer’s digital signage system
- Improve classroom AV system dependability and usability
- Manages budget of printer toner & printer service contracts
- Supervise maintenance of tech asset inventory database
- Manage the check in/out process of Tech Center equipment and tech supply inventory
- Contribute to Packer’s technology knowledge-base for end user self-help (Confluence)
- Provide management support for SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Zoom, MS Azure, etc.)
- Assist with IT Department special projects and technical support as needed
- Coordinate with other departments (maintenance, etc.), as needed.
- Lead service management and service improvement for key service delivery systems, such as Google Workspace, etc.

Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of, and experience with, the following technical systems:Jira Service Management (or similar), JAMF Pro, Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace for Education Plus
- Various operating systems including MacOS, iOS, ChromeOS, and Microsoft Windows
- Classroom A/V equipment (interactive projectors, AppleTV, Extron controls, etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of computer networks
- Apple / macOS / Jamf certifications a plus
Education:
- Four year degree in Information Technology or related fields
Experience:
- 5+ years experience in similar or related role
- Experience supporting classroom AV systems and users
- Experience with JAMF Pro MDM for MacOS laptop & iOS mobile device management
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 35lbs, climb stairs and use ladders
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role primarily works in Packer’s Tech Center, on the garden level of our main building. The Packer IT team works in Tech Center, which is an open and collaborative environment. Someone in this role will also be called upon to support equipment installed in classrooms and other spaces within our main campus buildings or at our Early Learning Center, two blocks away. Given that our buildings are older and there are very few elevators, taking stairs is often the most efficient and effective way to move about. There are some locations that are not accessible by elevator or ramp. The relationship between faculty, staff and students is positive and supportive.
