National Cathedral School (NCS) announces a search for a Certified Student Health Technician to work under the supervision of the School Nurse. As one of the school's primary medical caregivers, this role supports the health and wellness of all students in grades 4-12 and must be on campus each weekday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. The ideal candidate would be a thoughtful and compassionate healthcare provider who is able to handle a busy Health Room, managing routine situations as well as providing care for and monitoring of students with chronic medical conditions. This role requires an individual who is collaborative, detail-oriented, highly organized, able to multi-task, and can work well on a team. The individual must be an effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and school personnel. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience working in schools with a diverse student population. The salary range is $45,000-$60,000 with a full benefits package including support for professional development.
NCS is particularly interested in candidates with experience in school health, pediatrics, concussion management, triage, and community health. An ideal candidate is technologically savvy in order to manage the online systems that communicate and distribute medical information.
Minimum Work Experience:
1 year of related clinical nursing assistant or EMT in a comparable health setting
1 year of pediatric experience

Required Certification:
Nursing Assistant, EMT or Patient Care technician certification
First Aid and CPR/AED certification from a Red Cross or American Heart Association approved provider
Administration of Medication Certification or willingness to become certified within 2 months of hire.
Required Skills or Knowledge:
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to perform health screenings
Knowledge of basic first aid
Demonstrates sensitivity when treating students
Proficient knowledge of computer skills
Familiarity with the Magnus Health documentation program is helpful.
