CGPS is searching for an English teacher to teach sixth- and seventh-grade students who may also serve as a Homeroom Teacher. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a collaborative nature, a track record of effective teaching, deep knowledge of middle-school English curriculum, and an appreciation for the uniqueness of middle-school students.
Responsibilities
Create innovative unit plans that reflect sequential learning with differentiated activities based on students’ knowledge and skills.
Use department guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintaining records and write report cards accordingly.
Perform additional supervisory and instructional duties as assigned by the Middle School leadership team.
Communicate with parents effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree is preferred
A track record of successful, full-time teaching experience
The ability to collaborate positively and respectfully with colleagues, administrators, and parents
Effective oral and written communication skills
Work Hours
2024-25 Academic Year, 7:45am - 3:30pm
Weekly after-school faculty and department meetings
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $71,000 - $118,500 plus additional compensation for advanced degrees. We provide an exceptional benefits package.
