The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the development and implementation of the human resources strategy. They will oversee all human resources administration, change management, performance management, talent and acquisition management, employee relations, training and development, employee compensation, and benefits functions. The Director of HR is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective profitability as it relates to the workforce alignment with Golda Och Academy’s vision and goals.
Reporting directly to the CFOO, the Director of Human Resources will also collaborate with other Administrators. The primary function of the Human Resource Director is to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities of the Human Resource Department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring qualified candidates for open positions
Involves writing job descriptions, posting job ads, conducting interviews, and facilitating the selection process.
Oversees the training and development programs for employees to enhance their skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Includes organizing workshops, seminars, online courses, and on-the-job training initiatives.
Manages employee relations by handling conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions fairly and consistently. Responsible for promoting a positive work environment and fostering strong relationships between employees and management.
Implementation of performance management systems to evaluate employee performance, set goals, provide feedback, and recognize achievements.
Ensures that the GOA complies with relevant employment laws and regulations, including those related to labor standards, equal employment opportunity, workplace safety, and privacy.
Development and communication of organizational policies and procedures to employees, covering areas such as attendance, leave, code of conduct, diversity and inclusion, and harassment prevention.
Performance of workforce planning activities with key administrators to forecast future staffing needs, identify talent gaps, and develop strategies for recruiting, retaining, and developing employees to meet organization objectives.
Promoting employee engagement and well-being through initiatives such as engagement surveys, wellness programs, appreciation activities, and initiatives to support work-life balance.
Manage information systems to store and analyze employee data, track key metrics, automate administrative tasks, and facilitate decision-making related to human capital management.
Preparation of annual department budget assuring effective and efficient use of budgeted funds for personnel, materials, activities, software, subscriptions, etc., and review of same with actuals;
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software (word/excel/outlook)
Strong, positive interpersonal and customer service orientation; ability to interact well with a wide variety of people including staff, students, and outside contractors
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Passion and enthusiasm
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Demonstrated organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Must be self-motivated and able to exercise sound judgment in prioritizing tasks that originate from numerous sources to meet various deadlines.
