The Rashi School, Greater Boston’s Reform Jewish Independent School, serving students in grades Pre-K-8 seeks a School Social Worker for the 2024-2025 school year. The School Social Worker will join a high functioning and highly collaborative Learning Team led by the Director of Student Support. Rashi’s Middle School seeks to promote students’ academic, social, and emotional growth by nurturing an environment that promotes risk taking, flexibility, adaptability, empathy, and resilience. We are looking for educators with a history of positive, caring student-teacher interactions, rich content expertise, and student-centered approaches to join a team of exceptional faculty who utilize a strength based approach to empower students to be their best selves in and out of the classroom. Position Responsibilities:
Provide direct tier 2 and tier 3 support to students with social-emotional challenges, including individual counseling and small group counseling
Conduct student and family assessments to identify students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
Offer family/caregiver support (including home visits as needed)
Provide crisis intervention as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff
Provide referral services to students and families seeking therapeutic support in the community
Facilitate communication and collaboration between families, school, and collateral service providers
Consult with teachers and administrators regarding evidence-based practices in the realm of mental health challenges, including but not limited to positive behavior supports
Oversee data collection and implementation of behavior plans
Lead monthly consultations with the Consulting Psychiatristand Student Support team
Attend grade level meetings as needed
Consult to the Admissions Decision Committee

Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Social Work
3 to 5 years experience in school setting with students in grades PK-8
Familiarity with Responsive Classroom, Second Step, and Social Thinking preferred.

Able to sit, stand, type, twist, bend.
Able to use telephone and computers.
