Princeton Day School has an immediate opening for a full-time, 12-month Summer Programs Manager/Director (based on camp experience) and Homework Club Supervisor. This is a new year-round exempt position that will work in partnership with the Events & Rental Coordinator and Summer Programs Manager. What a great opportunity for the right candidate to bring new ideas to our Summer Programs reporting to the Assistant Head of School for Finance/Operations.
This role has three (3) primary responsibilities:
To manage the year-round implementation of our seven-week (number of weeks may vary) summer camp,
Be responsible for our middle school homework club during the school year
Assist with on campus event implementation, set-up and coverage
Schedule:
This position works on site Monday through Friday from 10am-6pm daily when school is in session. During our camp season, schedules will vary as we work with seasonal staff to maintain proper coverage of camp and summer activities. Anticipated schedule will be 8am-4pm Monday- Friday with some extended day coverage during the summer.
Implementation of our seven-week day camp begins at the end of our current camp season. You will work in partnership with the Events & Rental Coordinator and Summer Programs Manager to influence and recommend high level decisions about camp and other summer activities at PDS and manage all Summer Programs staff including seasonal admin staff, instructors and counselors. Prior experience as a camp director or assistant director is preferred.
Summer Programs Manager/Director Duties:
Maintain year-round correspondence with families through our summer programs email/ phone
Evaluate current Summer Program operations and make recommendations on how to better improve our camp experience
Main point of contact for our day to day Summer Program operations
Main point of contact for all Summer Programs staffing needs including seasonal admin staff, instructors and counselors
Partner with communications to market camp throughout the year to drive enrollment
Comfortable creating and managing email campaigns to market camp
Lead user of Ultra Camp our camp database - Prior experience is a plus
Understanding of ACA Standards and Accreditation
Knowledge of state and local camp standards and procedures
Ability to create a year-round timeline and workflow to help manage year-round and seasonal staff
Collaboration with outside summer vendors and camps- Main point of contact for existing and new relationships
Passion for working with campers- must be comfortable in a front facing role as the camp leader
Homework Club Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position oversees the Homework Club which runs daily during the school year from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm. The program consists of a short recess followed by a light snack and then supervised study. The position is ideal for a candidate interested in teaching and has a passion for working with students.
Homework Club Supervisor Duties:
Daily attendance/ billing management
Communication with families
Work closely with Lower School Stay & Play Program
Assist in hiring support staff
Daily supervision of 3-4 homework club staff members
Oversight of students, ensuring safe, yet fun environment
Homework support based on students needs
Ability to think on your feet when difficult situations arise
Ability to stay later in the event of late student pickups
Snack coordination including the purchasing of snacks offsite
