Position Summary The Pingry Lower School in Short Hills, NJ seeks a skilled evaluator to work part-time during the admission season from September to November 2024. The Lower School Part-Time Admissions Testing Position will primarily support our team during the Kindergarten testing process by professionally administering the assessments and providing timely, well-written summaries. This position requires a flexible schedule, and availability to provide between 3 to 7 hours weekly for in-person testing on our campus. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with the role’s variable workload, as the number of assessments per admission cycle is not fixed.
Responsibilities
Administering a standard test battery for each kindergarten applicant.
Consulting with members of the Admissions team and other staff psychologists.
Produce detailed written reports that include behavioral observations and the interpretation of test scores in a timely manner.
Maintaining accurate records for all applicants.
Other responsibilities as directed by the Lower School Director of Admission.
Qualifications
Experience as a learning specialist or certification to practice in New Jersey in School Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist and supervised training in administration, scoring, and interpretation of standardized assessments.
Familiarity with administering standardized tests.
Knowledge and experience in clinical assessment and excellent psychometric and cognitive and achievement assessment skills of young children.
High level of responsibility and accountability.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact.
Upbeat, engaging, “can do” personality.
Demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion practices.
Work effectively with others as part of a team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have the ability to remain flexible and patient.
Be detail-oriented and committed to excellence.
Comfortable with incorporating the latest technology into your workflow, including Zoom. Background using Veracross is a bonus but not a requirement.
Skilled in navigating the Google Suite of applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.).
