Hours: General hours of this position are approximately 2:15 pm - 6:00 pm Monday-Thursday; 1:45 pm - 6:00 pm Friday with special hours on student holidays and professional days.

Position Summary:
St. Christopher's School, the largest all-boys school in Virginia and one of the largest and oldest boys' schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks a creative and flexible teacher for its Extended Day Program, a unique after-school opportunity for students to explore enriching academic, artistic, and athletic experiences.
Serving approximately 1,000 boys in Grades JK-12 in Richmond, Virginia, St. Christopher's is an Episcopal school committed to cultivating a community that is diverse, inclusive and welcoming. The Extended Day program serves St. Christopher's and St. Catherine's students from both the lower and middle schools by providing an extensive, year-round after-school program in a safe and familiar setting on the St. Christopher's campus.
Principal Responsibilities:
Ensure successful implementation of co-curricular lessons written by Extended Day teachers, that foster student growth in academic, social, and emotional areas
Facilitate enrichment opportunities that include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, and STEM activities
Take student attendance according to Extended Day policy
Monitor study halls, provide academic support, and reinforce time management and study skills
Keep track of students' assignments and document any useful information for the classroom teacher
Maintain a safe classroom environment for students
Actively monitor student behavior in the classroom, during recess, and at carpool, and report any incidents regarding students' behavior

A bachelor's degree or an associate degree with experience in education preferred
A minimum of two years experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
Personal traits and communication style that nurture the growth of children
Passion and joy for working with young people and an enthusiasm for learning
Creative and flexible mindset and a solid work ethic
Works cooperatively with adults and has a strong ability to multitask
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are vital
Exceptional judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
Comfort with using technology daily and a willingness to learn and navigate specific platforms
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand and walk around for extended periods of time, in addition to frequent bending and stooping
Occasionally required to work in poor weather conditions such as temperature, precipitation, and wind during recess and carpool duty
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
