Key School is seeking After School Program staff for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will have experience and enjoy working with pre-school and school-aged students, ably work collaboratively and have availability during after school hours, 3pm to 6pm Monday through Friday. This position begins Thursday, August 22 through Thursday, June 5, 2025.
Reporting to the Director of Before and After School Programs, staff members will provide care and oversight to students, including a daily snack as well as indoor and outdoor play, and as appropriate, provide homework support. Staff will also plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities in collaboration with other team members, maintain health and safety standards to promote high quality care and support each child’s developmental needs.
Staff members are expected to effectively communicate with students, families and colleagues.

Ideal Candidate:
One or more years of experience working with students, particularly those who are pre-school or elementary school aged.
Demonstrates cultural competency in both classroom practice and interactions with students and colleagues
Flexible and able to accept schedule changes as needed.
Experience working with others on a professional team.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Maintain a current First Aid/CPR certification
Participate annually in required CEU training approved by the MSDE Office of Child Care

This position requires indoor and outdoor student supervision each day. The students go outside to play in most conditions, including light rain, snow and hot and cold temperatures. Candidates also need to be physically able to transition between sitting on the floor and child-sized chairs.
Some classes take place in other parts of the campus. The ability to move around a mid-size campus with uneven pavement and manage stairs is needed.
Compensation/Benefits:
The hourly rate for this position is $24.06.
Work Schedule/Travel:
After School Program staff members are not expected to travel or work outside of the program hours. If a staff member does work outside of the typical program hours, they will be compensated for the hours worked.
