The HudsonWay Immersion School New York Campus, seeks a full-time certified early childhood and elementary teacher to teach English language arts and literacy using an interdisciplinary approach to cover a Maternity Leave. Students range in age from 3 years old to grade 4. This teacher reports to the Principal.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute curriculum to teach all English - Language Arts, math, science, and social studies
Understand early childhood behavior and management
Ability to collaborate, plan and team-teach with target language immersion teachers
Demonstrate best teaching practices
Familiar with administering national achievement tests
Ability to recognize LD and G&T students and refer for evaluation
Develop materials, methods, environment and assessment to ensure attainment of academic goals
Be accountable to the administration for managing students’ safety, behavior and academic success
Work with administration to market the school
Provide supplemental instruction as needed.
Requirements
Degree in early childhood education or elementary education
NY certification K-5 or K-8
5+ years’ teaching experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational and management skills
Strong computer skills – internet, MS office, use of technology in classroom
Should love working with children
Action oriented, detailed and organized
Customer service and business oriented
Entrepreneurial and willing “to go the extra mile”
