Perks for On-Call Per Diem Substitute Teachers:

• 2-hour (paid) onboarding orientation combined with ongoing training aimed at gaining exposure to all classrooms to understand Tenacre’s student routines better
• $172/day ($21.50/hour)

Qualifications:

• Fluency in Spanish and conversational proficiency in English

• Successful candidates will have some experience teaching, effective and respectful class management skills, be team-oriented, and possess flexibility and a strong work ethic 
• Experience with Google Docs, Google Classroom, and Seesaw is helpful but not required as we will train the successful candidates.
• Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in Spanish to elementary students when the regular teacher is unavailable
• Substitute teachers are expected to deliver lessons prepared by Tenacre Country Day School faculty, organize the classroom environment, and establish routines that support children’s learning. 
• Additional duties will be assigned, including lunch/recess and dismissal.  

Short-term (1-3 hours/day) and all-day substitute teachers are needed. Tenacre offers highly competitive per diem rates, a flexible schedule, and a welcoming community. New college graduates are encouraged to apply.

About Tenacre Country Day School

Tenacre School is a small, co-educational day school for children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Six. Our mission is to "nurture and challenge each child, every day." Tenacre enrolls 194 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade, and has a teaching staff of 35, including special subject teachers for science, Spanish, art, technology, library, music, P.E., and Spanish. Tenacre also has resource teachers for reading and math to maintain small group learning. Supporting the operation of the school are the academic, admission/enrollment, business, and development offices. Work Environment Tenacre has a warm, welcoming work environment.
