Princeton Montessori School seeks an engaging, dynamic Upper Elementary trained Montessori teacher for our well-established Elementary program. The ideal candidate would have a strong mastery of classroom management, materials, and content of subject areas. Organization, strong writing and speaking skills, comfort with parents, and a collaborative and professional demeanor with colleagues are important.
Princeton Montessori School is a co-educational school serving over 220 students from Infant to 8th grade. Established in 1968, the School sits on 21 acres (6 acres are wetlands) with a 52,000 square foot building. The school is fully accredited by the American Montessori Society and Middle States.

Responsibilities: The Upper Elementary Conference teacher is responsible for all duties of a classroom teacher and being the liaison of the school to the parents of an assigned group of students.
Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Preparing materials for student lessons and activities - Assessing students' needs and individualizing curriculum in keeping with the abilities of the child - Recording student progress according to benchmarks within the program - Teaching core areas of the academic level assigned - Holding students’ attention during lessons - Strong behavior management using the Positive Discipline method - Modeling social graces and Montessori tenets for children - Maintaining a clean, orderly, sanitary, and safe environment for students - Attending all teacher and parent meetings, events, and field trips of your program or the school, as required - Maintaining a warm and attentive line of communication with parents - Communicating the developmental, academic, and social progress of students confidentially and professionally - Maintaining accurate and respectful communication about the School, students, and staff - Able to use positive confrontation with parents as needed to resolve conflict or give information - Host parent conferences two times per year.
Must hold an AMS Upper Elementary teaching credential and work comfortably within the Google platform for communications, calendar, and drive documents.
