Keystone school seeks an Alumni Relations Outreach Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in reconnecting Keystone School with its alumni community, many of whom we are still trying to locate.
Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, the Coordinator will focus on identifying and re-engaging our alumni, particularly in support of a major capital campaign. The goal is to inspire alumni to return to Keystone, get involved, and feel excited about the future of the school. This position will help organize alumni activities, fundraising, and special events designed to reignite their connection with the school.
With a focus on Keystone’s 1,700 alumni, the Coordinator will spearhead efforts to reach out creatively and strategically, rekindling relationships that can lead to active participation in the capital campaign and beyond. This role also contributes to managing Reunion classes, student-alumni programs, and alumni communications across both print and digital platforms. The Coordinator will be critical in building long-lasting relationships through outreach and volunteer stewardship, helping to turn newly reconnected alumni into lifelong supporters. This is a full-time position in the Development Office and includes employee benefits.
Key Job Elements:
Lead alumni relations efforts focused on locating and re-engaging alumni who have lost touch with the school.
Evaluate and enhance existing alumni programs with a focus on inspiring excitement about returning to Keystone and becoming involved with Keystone.
Utilize a data-driven approach to identify potential alumni donors and prospects, researching and reaching out to alumni we haven’t connected with and those we are building relationships with.
Assist the Director of Development and Alumni Relations in designing targeted alumni fundraising appeals that motivate alumni to contribute to Keystone, particularly the campaign.
Build alumni interest and engagement through diverse platforms, such as social media, print, email, mail, phone, website, and in-person interactions to foster excitement about the capital campaign and returning to Keystone.
Plan and implement alumni events that focus on rekindling their sense of connection and pride in the school, including virtual events that make it easy for distant alumni to participate.
Manage and update the Alumni web page, ensuring it is a dynamic resource for alumni, especially those newly reconnected to the school.
Maintain accurate alumni records and gather contact information for alumni we lost contact with.
Manage and build queries and lists of alumni records from The Raiser’s Edge Database.
Help build an interactive professional alumni network, sharing career opportunities and resources.
Create a student-to-alumni transition program that supports recent graduates in staying connected and becoming more actively involved in alumni activities over the long term.
Help establish and maintain an active parents-of-alumni group to foster continued engagement and support.
Prepare and analyze reports on alumni participation, program success, and challenges for the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, the Alumni Council, and volunteers.
Support Development Office initiatives and events as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Previous experience in Alumni Relations, especially in outreach efforts to reconnect with lost alumni, is preferred.
Event planning experience is an asset.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, alumni, and volunteers of all ages.
Must be able to handle confidential information responsibly and interact professionally with a diverse community.
Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT, Microsoft Office, PC, graphic design, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn is preferred.
Willingness to learn and implement ongoing changes in Blackbaud CRM in maintaining Keystone’s alumni database.
Strong understanding of leveraging social media and digital platforms to locate and engage alumni and drive excitement about alumni activities and the capital campaign.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as well as participate in regional and national alumni events.
