The Langley School, a Preschool-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, is hiring a dynamic interim middle school language arts teacher to join the Langley School teaching faculty through the end of the 2024-2025 school year with the opportunity to be a non-interim faculty member beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.

The Language Arts teacher will teach four sections of middle school Language Arts, including designing and delivering instruction that reflects our inquiry-based instructional model, providing targeted and timely feedback on student learning, and adapting instruction based on student progress. The Language Arts teacher will also participate in the life of the school, including, but not limited to being an advisor, teaching an elective, chaperoning day and overnight trips, supervision of break and/or lunch, and other duties as assigned by the Head of Middle School.

Teaching Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required, Advanced degree and degree in English preferred
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
A minimum of three years prior experience teaching in a middle school setting
Passion for working with middle schoolers
Comfort working in a highly collaborative organization
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment
Commitment to personal and professional development
Experience with and training in Columbia Teachers College Readers and Writers Workshop strongly preferred
High level of integrity, professionalism, flexibility, and organization
Experience integrating technology in pedagogy and the classroom
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
