Tower Hill School seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Director of Enrollment Management starting in July 2025. This Senior Leadership Team position reports to the Head of School and is currently supported by a staff of three. The Director of Enrollment Management oversees all facets of attracting, admitting, and retaining a qualified, diverse and dynamic student body which represents our motto, Multa Bene Facta, or Many Things Done Well, a philosophy about commitment, hard work, multifaceted learning and extraordinary and healthy achievement.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate and stalwart promoter of Tower Hill School, a systems thinker with exceptional organizational and data analysis skills, and a proven and creative leader in admissions, recruitment and retention. The Director will develop and lead inclusive outreach efforts to draw families from diverse backgrounds and a larger geographic area to the school and will ensure that Tower Hill continues to enroll promising students who both thrive as part of the school community and who, in turn, contribute to the community as a whole. We are seeking a team player who has a can-do and will-do spirit, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with all inside and outside of the community, and a warm and collaborative nature.
This appointment comes at a pivotal time for Tower Hill School as the school seeks to make its reputation as the premier educational choice in Wilmington known beyond the immediate area in order to make Tower Hill a “destination school” for families of talented children of strong character in communities not geographically or historically inclined to consider the school.
Primary roles and responsibilities:
Engage and communicate Tower Hill’s mission and vision compellingly to prospective parents and students in individual, small, and large group settings.
Oversee all aspects of Tower Tot (three year old program) through Grade 12 admissions, including: reading applications, conducting parent and student interviews, admissions committee meetings, and admissions testing.
Work with school leadership to clarify school composition goals at the student body and budgetary levels to create an intentional recruitment strategy that achieves the school’s enrollment, financial, and financial aid goals.
Oversee and manage the allocation of Tower Hill’s healthy financial aid resources and budget, leading the admissions team to make fair and well informed decisions for current and incoming students and to make a Tower Hill education possible for the most talented students.
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to construct a sophisticated and creative approach to the presentation of the school online, in print and in person and its most compelling signature programs to new and existing target communities.
Inspire our community to actively participate in admissions events including individual and group tours, student shadow visits, Open Houses, student observations, testing and interviews, parent to parent connections, and individual family conversations.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies including area schools, preschools, consultants, admissions directors and organizations, and create networking opportunities.
Develop a broad and creative outreach program to make Tower Hill a destination school in the region including nearby states such as PA, MD and NJ, to draw talented, diverse, and highly motivated students to the admissions process.
Maintain detailed and accurate admissions statistics regarding enrollment, attrition, and diversity; use this data and other research to inform all strategic initiatives and interpret and present these statistics to the Board of Trustees and other constituencies.
Serve as a member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team, representing the administration in all areas of school life including team meetings, quarterly Board meetings, special events held at the school, and duties that proceed from the Senior Leadership Team’s collaborative and team-spirited approach to servant leadership.
Work with others across the community to identify and understand Tower Hill’s distinctive qualities and provide input at the Senior Leadership Team level to align these with market demand, and prospective parent and student needs and expectations.
Design a comprehensive volunteer and ambassador program that embraces our active and interested group of Board members, faculty, parents, alumni, and students in our outreach efforts.
Direct and oversee retention efforts throughout the year, including the re-enrollment process, events, and shadow days.
Collaborate with division heads, deans, and other student-facing colleagues to enact a positive and proactive approach; use exit interviews to inform future practices; and formalize the way we identify and serve students at risk of leaving.
Evaluate and contribute to the redesign of effective onboarding, orientation, and acclimatization activities for students and families new to the school with a keen eye for quality and consistency.
Maintain a positive work environment with admissions staff including providing clear communication regarding responsibilities, practices, and feedback.
Manage the admissions budget, making decisions on where our resources can make the most impact for prospective and current students.
