The Director of Auxiliary Programs provides oversight and development of Ursuline’s UA+ portfolio of Auxiliary Programs that extend the school calendar, enhance the curriculum, and enrich the community. In this role, the Director will design, plan, and ensure the smooth execution of these programs as appropriate. The Director is also responsible for researching needs and opportunities for expansion of auxiliary programs.
The role is a twelve-month, full-time administrative position. The Director consults regularly with the School Administration team and the Academic Council.
General Authority
The Director of Auxiliary Programs for Ursuline Academy of Dallas reports to the Principal who, in turn, reports to the President of the Academy.
Key Accountabilities
Strategically develop programs supporting Ursuline’s mission and our community while achieving non-tuition revenue growth.
Maximize the income from auxiliary enterprises by leveraging the physical, social and intellectual capital of the school.
Develop and manage a portfolio of UA+ Auxiliary Programs, including but not limited to: Summer School, Summer Camps, Community Workshops, Athletic Clinics, Student Internships, and Co-curricular Student Travel.
Perform research on needs and submit plans for growth of the auxiliary program to extend Ursuline’s capacity with students, families, and the larger community.
Ensure that summer offerings meet needs and are refreshed and enhanced each year and explore new options for growth as the need or opportunity arises.
Engage in Professional Learning and auxiliary programming organizations to ensure that UA+ programs and staff follow best practices in auxiliary programming.
Responsibilities & Activities
Year-round preparation, execution, and analysis of all programs in the UA+ portfolio.
Develop and manage the auxiliary programming budget in support of program growth.
Collaboratively plan Summer School courses with Dean of Academics, Department Chairs, and faculty to best meet the academic and scheduling needs of Ursuline students.
Plan and oversee co-curricular student travel in partnership with Dean of Academics, Ursuline faculty, and vendor partners to run safe, impactful educational travel opportunities.
Implement innovative and unique Camps and Workshops, recruiting Ursuline faculty, coaches, select guest instructors, and strategic vendor partners as needed.
Manage program-related facility schedules, security, staffing, payroll, and supplies in coordination with Operations, Security, HR, Finance, and Bear Necessities.
Create and execute cohesive marketing and communications plans in coordination with Communications to promote auxiliary programs growth and expand audiences. Manage UA+ social media accounts.
Use CampBrain, Senior Systems, and FinalSite to manage program registration and scheduling, and to share data with key administrators.
Provide on-site supervision of all programs to ensure safe and smooth execution and a positive customer experience.
Recruit, train, and manage an effective Auxiliary Programs team, providing support and development for the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs, seasonal Coordinators, student volunteers, vendors, faculty, and coaches.
Work with Director of Admissions, Dean of Students, and Director of Community and Inclusion to support the needs of new-to-Ursuline students in summer programs.
Assist school administrators with projects as they arise.
