We seek a full-time Vocal Music Teacher to lead a thriving program that includes multiple Upper School Jazz Choirs, Upper School Musical directing, and general music classes for the 2025-26 school year.

Program
Central to the philosophy of the SAAS Vocal Music Program is the belief that music is a powerful and joyful catalyst for personal growth. The Vocal Music Program is open to all Upper School students and provides opportunities for musical development and expression. The top Jazz Choir travels and competes at festivals and has been awarded first place five times at the Reno Jazz Festival and placed highly in The California Jazz Championships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach multiple levels of the Vocal Jazz Choir Program.
Serve as Music Director for the Upper School Musical.
Teach general music appreciation classes.
Participate in other duties, such as student advising, supervision, and chaperoning trips.
Preferred Experience/proficiencies:
Experience and training in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to lead multiple levels of a choir program.
Ability to integrate singers of diverse singing abilities into a viable ensemble.
Piano proficiency for accompanying choirs.
Ability to arrange music for choirs.
Knowledge of music software, including Dorico and/or Sibelius.
Knowledge of sound-system use and set-up.
Master’s degree and five years of teaching experience
