POSITION SUMMARY (potential opening): We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IB Diploma Programme (DP) Mathematics Teacher to join a dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning, with a deep understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) DP framework and a commitment to fostering a stimulating, challenging, and supportive learning environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Mathematics, preparing students for the IB DP exams, and supporting their overall academic and personal development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the IB DP Mathematics curriculum (Analysis and Approaches/Applications and Interpretations).
Monitor, assess, and report on students progress, providing constructive feedback to support student growth.
Prepare students for IB DP internal and external assessments, including the Internal Assessment (IA) and final exams.
Facilitate an inquiry-based, student-centered learning environment.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure cross-curricular connections and cohesive instructional strategies.
Attend relevant meetings, professional development sessions, and contribute to the wider school community.
Guide and mentor students through the extended essay process, where applicable.
Actively participate in pastoral care duties and extracurricular activities as required by the school.
Stay current with educational trends and developments in mathematics teaching and the IB framework.
Classroom management
Create a positive climate with established routines, connections and relationships, positive discipline, restorative practice.
Communication
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open lines of communication to support student success, with the ability to communication across lines of difference and cultural communication styles.
Administrative Responsibilities
Contribute to the school community by participating in duties, extracurricular activities, school events, and committees.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills, stay up to date with educational trends and best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Child Safeguarding
Ensures the safety, protection, and well-being of students by creating a safe environment where students can learn grow, and thrive and taking proactive measures to prevent and respond to any forms of harm to students.
Physical requirements include ability to move around the classroom for extended periods of time and capacity to lift and carry teaching materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- REQUIRED:
At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB school setting.
Strong understanding of the IB DP philosophy, assessment criteria, and curriculum structure.
Experience with technology in the classroom and familiarity with online teaching platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in Education or mathematics.
Demonstrated ability and skills to meet the Core Competencies established by ISB as outlined above.
Demonstrated knowledge of the subject area(s) being taught.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage in conversational English at the B1 level.
Teaching certification or license from a recognized domestic or international educational authority.
Background check cleared.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- PREFERRED (not required, but beneficial):
Advanced degree in Education or a related field.
