The Red Oaks School, a Pre K-8, independent school in Morristown, NJ, is seeking After School Care Staff for the upcoming school year, beginning September 2024 through June 2025. This is a part-time position, paid hourly, from 2:30pm to 6:00pm (with some flexibility around start and stop time) Monday through Friday. In conjunction with the after-school team, the staff member will help create a fun, positive environment for students in elementary and middle school to engage in age-appropriate activities. This opportunity is available at the Cutler Campus (Primary through Grade 4). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success working with kids to provide a safe and nurturing environment. Overview of responsibilities:
Monday through Friday approximately 2:30 to 6 PM.
Supervise students and ensure a safe, caring environment at all times.
Monitor snacktime.
Prepare and organize scheduled activities to keep students engaged and stimulated.
Collaborate with other aftercare staff members and work effectively as part of the team.
Assist students with handwashing and snacks (for younger students) and homework help (for older students).

Qualifications and Core Competencies:
Experience working with children in a school, camp, or related setting is highly desirable.
Prefer 18+ years of age. Qualified candidates, 17 years of age, will be considered.
All members of the aftercare team work closely together to provide a positive and enriching experience for every after-school care participant. Strong collaboration skills are essential.
Ability to guide, motivate, and be a role model for students in the program.
Responsible and reliable – candidates must arrive on time and be prepared each day.
