Inly School seeks a compassionate and engaging Leave Replacement Spanish Teacher to join our community starting December 2, 2024, through February 7, 2025.  Please note that this position includes a two-week winter break from December 23, 2025 to January 3, 2025. The Leave Replacement Spanish Teacher will teach students from preschool (3 years old) through grade 8 Spanish, fostering language acquisition in an engaging, hands-on manner. This full-time role will not only provide a vibrant learning experience but will also immerse students in the joy and depth of Spanish language and culture. 

Inly School is an independent PreK–8 Montessori-plus School located in Scituate, MA that serves over 200 students from 20 South Shore towns and is deeply rooted in Montessori, child-centered, and inclusive educational practices. Key Responsibilities:  

• Plan and deliver Spanish lessons across multiple age groups, from preschool through grade 8, creating an interactive, age-appropriate, and culturally rich experience.
• Foster a Spanish immersion environment, encouraging conversational skills and cultural understanding.
• Maintain lesson plans and assessments that reflect students’ progress and support their language development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Spanish language content with broader school projects and curriculum themes.
• Support students’ social-emotional development in alignment with Montessori values of respect, empathy, and community.

Strong Candidates Will Have:  

• A Bachelor’s Degree (in Spanish, Education, or a related field); Master’s preferred.
• At least three years of teaching experience, ideally with diverse age groups and/or in a Montessori setting.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
• A collaborative spirit and a desire to contribute to Inly’s progressive, inclusive environment.
• A commitment to anti-bias education and the creation of a welcoming, inclusive classroom community.
• An understanding of, or willingness to learn, Montessori philosophy and methods.

• Mobility and Resource Utilization: Our campus is a sprawling campus 13 acres with multiple buildings. The ability to move about the school is necessary for accessing and utilizing various resources, which are integral to our operation.
• Clear and Effective Communication: As a pivotal member of our team, your ability to communicate information and ideas clearly is essential. This ensures a robust and understanding network among staff, students, and parents.
• Physical Involvement: The role regularly involves lifting items, including children, weighing up to 30 pounds. This aspect of the job is crucial for supporting the physical care and educational activities of our students.
• Outdoor Activities Engagement: Our curriculum incorporates daily outdoor activities, requiring you to work in various weather conditions. This aspect of the role is instrumental in promoting outdoor learning and appreciation among our students.
