Located in the historic coastal town of Hyannis, MA, St. John Paul II School (JPII) is a Cape Cod Catholic school that welcomes students and families from diverse faiths and backgrounds who desire a college preparatory, Catholic education. The school’s academic, artistic, athletic, and co-curricular programs cultivate strong relationships and empower students to recognize their gifts, develop their potential, and communicate Christ in word and deed. Emulating their patron St. John Paul II, students pursue truth through faith and reason, preparing them to lead lives of continuous learning, respect, and community leadership.
Founded in 2007, JPII serves over 400 students in grades 5-12 and is marked by authentic Catholic faith, excellence in programming, and strong relationships amongst students, families, and the school. JPII was re-accredited in the Spring of 2022 by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), an independent, voluntary, nonprofit membership organization which partners with schools around the world to assess, support, and promote high quality education for all students.
A dedicated Advisory Board helps the school achieve excellence both institutionally and in its program for students. Comprised of community leaders, clergy members, passionate parent leaders, and alumni, the Advisory Board provides advice and counsel to the Head of School (President), and carries the school’s message to its many publics, and strengthens the school’s external relationships. Ultimate school governance is vested in the Roman Catholic Bishop of Fall River and his designee, the Superintendent of Schools.

The school operates in the Head of School and Assistant Head of School model (President and Principal) and seeks an entrepreneurial executive leader with exceptional poise, presence, and communications skills. To qualify, you will need to be a practicing Catholic in communion with the Church, accomplished mission-driven servant-leader with a portfolio of leadership success, and experience engaging and partnering with constituents and stakeholders.
The Head of School (President) serves as the chief executive officer of the school and is responsible for the operational vitality for the school, including advancement, enrollment, marketing, finances, and capital projects. The Head of School (President) leads and articulates the school’s mission and vision, creates, and implements strategic plans, and builds and nurtures constituent and stakeholder relationships on and off campus. The Head of School (President) also bears ultimate responsibility for the school’s Catholic identity and is supported by a robust senior leadership team in carrying out these responsibilities.
We welcome candidates from other Catholic, charter, or independent schools as well as accomplished executives from various mission-critical career venues such as higher education; non-profit foundations, associations, charities and the like; or the corporate, civic, and professional services arenas. While knowledge of education and school operations is preferred, other qualities and experiences are also valued, especially visionary, entrepreneurial executive leadership and the ability to inspire, lead a high-performing team, and create demand for the extraordinary gifts of a JPII education.
