POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Browning School seeks a highly qualified full-time, twelve-month, Database Administrator and Registrar whose primary responsibility will be supporting students, faculty, staff, families, and alumni with the school’s Student Information System, Academic Records, Schedules, and IT infrastructure. There are two main areas of focus for this role. First, there is a particular focus on the administration of academic records and schedules. Second, The Database Administrator and Registrar will also provide support as part of a Technology Support team. The ideal candidate will help streamline the many systems data migration to ensure accurate class lists, enrollments, and directories. This position reports to the Director of Technology and Innovation and works closely with the Director of IT, Director of College Guidance, Director of Admissions, Director of Enrollment, and Director of Operations. The position will start ASAP. The expected salary range for this position is $80,000-100,000, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, and maintain Veracross, our Student Information System. This includes roster management, schedule accuracy, attendance support, user account creation, advanced query support, and more.
Support schedule creation, and explore systems to integrate with Veracross.
Establish and coordinate all scheduling-related tasks and communications for the school, including but not limited to database setup, online course request portal, classroom capacities, teaching assignments, course offerings, daily schedules, blocks, tracks, communications, and running master and student schedule generation.
Assist with registrar-related functions, including records requests, grading, and obtaining complete and official transfer student records from sending schools.
Process student schedule changes throughout the year, ensuring proper record and grade retention.
Support move to Veracross for Transcripts, ensuring accurate records for the college admission process.
Manage the after-school program signup process and enrollment in coordination with the Directors of Encore and Chess.
Partner with Admissions/Enrollment and Business Offices to ensure all student enrollment and withdrawal records are accurate.
Manage, maintain, and, when necessary, make selection recommendations for Technology systems and software.
Google Apps Administrator - Manage, maintain and recommend processes for user accounts, lists, groups, and access control.
Participate in cyber security planning and implementation, ensuring infrastructure, data, and users are protected from potential risks.
Write internal technical documentation and end-user documentation.
Maintain historical transcripts, and other school records.
Mobile Device Management - Help the Tech support team.
Participate in department-wide projects and attend regular department meetings.
Provide end-user support through appropriate methods, while managing related support tickets in a centralized IT ticketing platform.
Qualifications
Experience administering Veracross Student Information Systems. Alternatively, Systems Administration to Blackbaud or other similar SIS.
At least 3 years of experience with databases is necessary.
Knowledge of the Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals, Zoom (administrator level), JAMF MDM, and Meraki MDM a plus..
Strong organization and collaboration skills are required.
