About Bertschi School
Bertschi School, founded in 1975, is a Washington State approved elementary school serving students in grades pre-kindergarten to fifth. We are an accredited member of the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
Position General Description
The Facilities/Grounds Maintenance Worker assists in carrying out repairs and maintenance of all school buildings and general care and maintenance of school grounds.
Position Duties
- Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned
- Assist in keeping the buildings and grounds well maintained and in good repair
- Assist in projects work on campus such as painting and minor repairs
- Perform indoor and outdoor cleaning duties around campus
- Assist with set up for school events
- Assist in keeping all school equipment in good working order
- Ensure safe use of all equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Aptitude and interest in facilities maintenance
- Prior school experience a bonus
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for prolonged periods of time
- Enjoy being around children and part of a school community
- Experience collaborating with individuals from various cultures and backgrounds
- Good communications and collaborative skills and a team player
