Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), an independent, Catholic school for girls in grades 6-12 in Towson, is seeking a Social Media Manager. Founded in 1873, the school currently enrolls approximately 840 students and has approximately 190 full- and part-time employees. The right candidate will enjoy working in a mission-driven, religious educational setting. Employment is full-time for 12 months, beginning immediately. Flexible scheduling is required for this position to ensure coverage of events outside school operating hours. This position will be in-person/on-campus five days per week.

Reports to and works collaboratively with the Director of Communications, the Social Media Manager supports the day-to-day functions necessary to maintain effective, efficient, and productive social media processes.
Anticipated salary is $42,000 - $47,000 annually (based on experience).
Areas of Responsibility:
Social media
In collaboration with the Director of Communications and other members of the Communications Team, develop an annual social media plan that addresses specific needs of external offices (Admissions, Advancement) as well as general school promotion
Develop engaging, effective, and measurable social media strategies and content, and plan and post content
Regularly assess social media metrics to ensure the effectiveness of content and audience engagement
Ensure brand consistency in social media.
Oversee school-associated social media accounts (teams, clubs, etc.), working with club moderators, coaches, etc.
Create and manage a social media calendar to ensure comprehensive, consistent and frequent content reflecting all areas of school life.
Content creation:
Creative mindset to keep content fresh and engaging.
Basic graphic design needs not provided by external graphic design vendors, using tools such as Canva, Photoshop, etc.
Video and photographic support for posts, events and activities.
Maintenance of photo archives.
Creation and maintenance of foyer communication content.
Other:
Collaborate with part-time Digital Content Assistant on event coverage and content creation.
As part of the Communications Department, serve as a subject-area expert to participate in yearly planning, execution, and assessment of communication initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in digital media, marketing/communications/public relations, English, journalism, or related field.
Three years of digital media or related experience in a professional setting; experience in education is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills (writing samples required).
Proficiency with Microsoft programs; knowledge of Photoshop preferred.
Knowledge of Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, or social media management tool is desired.
Knowledge of social media best practices and protocols, especially as it related to a school setting and working with minors.
Familiarity with any standard content management system required; knowledge of WordPress, Blackbaud, Asana, and HTML a plus.
Problem resolution and troubleshooting ability regardless of specific technical familiarity.
Photography experience necessary; videography experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and exceptional organizational skills.
During certain times in the school year, ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate events occurring after regular school hours, such as sports games, concerts, and gatherings.
Individual will possess creativity to execute ideas and analytical ability to assess if ideas were effective.
Must be highly self-motivated, flexible, comfortable working independently, and have a good sense of humor; respect for confidentiality.
