Personnel Management: Directs the Facilities Technician, Groundskeeper, and Day Porter.
Facility Operations: Oversees facility management services including building and grounds maintenance, athletic field and facility upkeep, event logistics, traffic and parking control, security, transportation, janitorial services, and snow removal.
Strategic Planning and Alignment: Collaborates with school administration to set strategic objectives, managing operations to support the school’s overall strategy.
Standardization and Consistency: Maintains best-in-class practices for educational facility management, ensuring financial and physical maintenance efficiency.
Vendor and Contract Management: Develops and oversees the facilities maintenance plan, service contracts, and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with contract obligations.
Collaboration: Fosters effective relationships across operational teams (e.g., food service, janitorial), faculty, staff, and facilities teams, enhancing the educational experience.
Service Orientation and Culture: Encourages a service-oriented and stewardship-focused culture, leading regular team meetings to review expectations, brainstorm, and solve issues.
Facilities Inspection: Conducts and documents scheduled inspections of campus facilities.
Budget Management: Develops, submits, and oversees budgets for operations, long-term plans, and projects, tracking variances and adjusting spending as necessary.
Compliance and Safety: Ensures compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including OSHA and other relevant codes.
Capital Project Planning and Development:
Works with senior leadership to identify and prioritize capital projects.
Conducts feasibility studies and site assessments for new constructions, renovations, and major repairs.
Develops project scopes, budgets, and timelines, aligning with institutional goals.
Project Management and Oversight:
Serves as the primary contact for capital projects, managing all phases from initiation to completion.
Coordinates with architects, engineers, and vendors, monitoring construction to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
Develops risk management strategies, including safety protocols and contingency planning.
Maintains comprehensive documentation for all projects.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
Provides project status updates and reports to senior leadership, board members, and other stakeholders.
Engages with faculty, staff, and community members to address project-related questions and concerns.
Sustainability and Resource Efficiency:
Incorporates sustainability practices into capital projects, including energy efficiency.
Manages resource use and waste disposal for environmental impact reduction.
Vendor and Contractor Relations:
Leads procurement and selection processes, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
Resolves vendor and contractor issues professionally to minimize disruptions.
Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to fulfill responsibilities.
