The Woodward School, an all-girls school in Quincy MA, seeks an individual to join our staff as a Computer Science Teacher as well as The Director of Technology. The ideal candidate should be proficient in coding, HTML, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365 and be familiar and comfortable using MacOS. Additional knowledge in, or willingness to learn, Arduino electronics, LEGO robotics, 3D printing, or other computer related topics would be preferred.
This is a full-time, in person, position during the academic school year, with a schedule that follows the school calendar. Employees will have paid time off during scheduled school vacations (e.g., Thanksgiving break, Winter break, February vacation and April vacation and other observed holidays). During the summer months, the position transitions to part-time hours, offering flexibility while still providing meaningful work and continued involvement with our team. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree a plus)
Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching or coaching at the secondary school level

To provide efficient and effective technical support to students, faculty, and staff by ensuring the seamless operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This includes troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, maintaining the integrity of school technology resources, and proactively identifying opportunities for system improvements and upgrades to enhance the overall learning environment. This goal reflects a commitment to both immediate support needs and long-term improvements in the school’s IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Implement the program core values and mission.
Establish and implement behavioral norms and maintain consistent routines in the classroom and throughout the school building.
Provide differentiated classroom instruction through the implementation of curriculum content, methods, and materials, guided by the MA Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core State Standards.
Formulate lesson plans, monthly projected plans, and curriculum plans as specified by Supervisor.
Be willing and prepared to be a practitioner of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in pedagogy.
Showcase innovation in all classroom practices, both with and without the utilization of a variety of technologies.
Review of all cumulative records of assigned students including IEPs, evaluations, progress notes, status reports, medical background, etc.
Maintain parent contact in cooperation with other school staff (i.e., phone, e-mail, etc.).
Maintain collaborative communication with staff to ensure consistent delivery.
Establish goals to continue professional growth and development.
Maintain a respectful, positive, pro-active professional attitude.
Develop an ongoing, problem-solving relationship with the supervisor, seeking guidance as necessary.
Use a wide variety of assessments including individual, common and external assessments to inform and evaluate teaching and learning.
Compile progress and report card grades and/or individual student progress reports as required and within estimated timelines.
Communicate student progress regularly with parents and/or community when necessary.
Attend special school events, admissions open houses and info sessions
Oversee the school’s technology licensing, and warranties
Support & troubleshoot issues relating to hardware & software.
Oversee campus technology infrastructure
Maintain an emergency technology plan containing username and passwords, vendors names and contact info and emergency tech plan information with Administration
