Overview
The Kew-Forest School is a co-educational independent day school located in Forest Hills, Queens, New York that serves a diverse population of approximately 225 students in Preschool (3-year-olds) through Grade 12. Founded in 1918, Kew-Forest is the longest-serving college preparatory school in Queens. Our community nurtures lifelong learners, our educators inspire young people, and our students support each other.
The School is currently looking for a skilled Assistant Track and Field coach for the Spring season, starting February 24, 2025. The competitive season is scheduled to consist of 4-6 competitions. Kew-Forest participates in the Private School Athletic Association.
Candidates must:
be available between the hours of 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for practice and as early as 2:00 p.m. for travel to away games if it falls on a weekday; Some meets may fall on a weekend;
be available to travel on the bus with student-athletes to away meets;
be available for Track and Field meets that may fall on weekends; and
complete certification upon hire (mandated reporter, concussion, management, CPR/AED First Aid, etc).
Responsibilities include:
assisting with running practices (minimum 4 times/week; max 2 hours each);
teaching/guiding student-athletes in proper running or shot-put techniques;
remaining open to adding meets and invitationals to the schedule when appropriate;
communicating with the team, parents, and Athletic Director with any changes/cancellations of practices or meets; and
providing team updates to the Athletic Director.
Compensation
A stipend between $1,300 - $2,300 will be offered based on experience.
