Greene Street Friends School is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager. GSFS is a quaker, independent pre-k to 8th grade school with enrollment as high as 350 students. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with maintenance experience who is committed to providing excellent service to the campus community. With experience, planning, and troubleshooting systems, they will have the ability and willingness to undertake and be responsible for a variety of tasks from maintaining the facility’s preventative maintenance program to collaborating with other departments to ensure goals are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. Collaborates with maintenance technicians to manage and process work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly. Ability to prepare and analyze budgets Manage outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems. Oversee cleaning and maintenance contractors to ensure compliance. Drafts and implements preventive maintenance schedules and budgets for buildings and equipment, and maintains facility documentation. Ensures safety standards are followed throughout the facility. Manage event calendar, forms and logistics. Facility support for all events. Coordinate resources for all school events in collaboration with the Maintenance Technician and IT & Facilities Coordinator Ensure the facility preparation and set-up for all events. Oversee the security of the school premises including monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points as deemed necessary. Collaborate on internal communications plans as they relate to operations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Founded in 1855, Greene Street Friends School has operated continuously in central Germantown section of Philadelphia. The school’s curriculum emphasizes Quaker values, academic strength, and cultural competence. Greene Street graduates attend the top private and public magnet high schools, the largest percentage attending Central High School. Since the mid-1960’s the school has implemented a mission-based business model that prioritizes financial accessibility, with an enrollment of 45% - 55% students of color. Over the past twenty years, the school has doubled both in enrollment and campus size. Current enrollment is 320 students on a campus of three acres. The annual budget is $5M, no debt.
