Position Available: Blair Academy announces an opening for a mathematics teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We are searching for an enthusiastic, student-centered and collegial teacher who will share in the responsibility of ensuring that our teaching of mathematics at Blair is cohesive, inquiry-based and appropriately challenging across our four-year sequence.
The strongest applicants will have the following qualifications:
Experience teaching introductory and advanced principles of algebra, geometry and calculus at the high school level;
Interest in inquiry-based and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching mathematics;
Passion for teaching students at all levels, from algebra 1 through integral and series calculus;
Advanced degree in mathematics or a related field, or an MEd with a BA/BS in math;
Interest in creating dynamic and collaborative classrooms in which student discovery and critical thinking lead learning; and
Strong commitment to collaborating with colleagues to create curricular materials.
Typical job responsibilities include:
Teaching four sections (with two preparations) each semester;
Coaching or assisting with a sport for two seasons or activities for three seasons;
Advising a group of up to six students; and
Providing weekly supervision for boarding students during evening and weekend hours.
