HWIS is seeking a dedicated and relible Financial Planner to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis (5- 10 hrs./wk.). In this role, you will be assisting the CFO in overseeing the fiscal operations of the school.
Responsibilities
Assist in budget preparation for summer programs and school year
Analyze spending reports to explain variances against budget
Update financial projections; recommend budget changes as necessary
Update cash flow model regularly
Oversee preparations and data requests from auditors
Work on special projects (e.g., Amortization schedules, capital asset tracking)
Make recommendations and implement as necessary process improvements including internal controls
Prepare reports as needed
Ideal for retired school Finance professional

Bachelor’s degree in Business or accounting is required, Master’s Degree (MBA or MA) a plus
Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance/ accounting role
Mastery of basic accounting principles is required
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to work on multiple projects and manage time efficiently
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
