Middle School English Teacher
The Middle School English Teacher will teach grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a collaborative nature, a track record of effective teaching, a deep knowledge of middle-school English curriculum, and an appreciation for the uniqueness of middle-school students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and implement innovative unit plans that reflect sequential learning with differentiated activities based on students’ knowledge and skills.
Use department guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintaining records, and writing report cards accordingly.
Provide meaningful, individualized feedback and support to students.
Collaborate positively and respectfully with members of the Middle School, the English department, other colleagues, school administrators, students, and families.
Responsible for coverage of duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum of three years full-time teaching experience
Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, preferably in middle or secondary science
Proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with families and students both in writing and orally
WORK HOURS:
7:45 am - 3:15 pm Mon-Fri
Bi-weekly faculty meetings until 4:30 pm
Start Date: This position is for the 25-26 School Year with the new hire orientation beginning in late August.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $71,000 -$118,500 based on completed degree programs and years of lead teaching experience. We offer highly competitive salaries, exceptional benefit package, and a warm and supportive culture.
