Job Summary: Frederica Academy seeks an Upper School Science Instructor to begin in August 2025. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to teach AP Chemistry and Chemistry courses. Candidates who demonstrate a passion for both academics and extracurricular involvement are highly encouraged, as the ability to coach an athletic team is also a desired quality. The ability to teach additional academic electives and/or coach is also desired.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The Upper School Science Instructor will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
Curriculum Development: Create and enhance curriculum materials, syllabi, outlines, and assessments that align with educational standards and foster student engagement.
After-School Support: Conduct scheduled after-school tutorials to provide additional academic assistance to students.
Meeting Participation: Attend all homeroom, faculty, and department meetings as required to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school community.
School Involvement: Engage actively in the life of the school beyond the classroom, including opportunities for coaching and serving as an advisor for student leadership organizations.
Additional Responsibilities: Complete other duties as assigned by the Upper School Director or Head of School to support the overall mission of the school.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Adaptability: Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to diverse learning styles and a wide range of student abilities.
Professionalism: Commitment to ethical behavior, professionalism, and respect for diversity in all interactions.
Experience: Preference for candidates with multiple years of teaching at the Upper School level in an independent school setting.
