Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks Associate Teachers to support classrooms in Grades K-4 beginning September 1, 2025.
The Lower School Associate Teacher program provides educators in the dawn of their careers the opportunity to work alongside and learn from an experienced Head Teacher. Designed for college graduates interested in pursuing a teaching career, the majority of appointments last for three years, in the same classroom.
Qualified candidates are passionate about working with children and put students’ needs first. We seek educators who are collaborative in nature and eager to learn, and who have a joyful sense of humor. We expect all community members to demonstrate a commitment to an equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences, and an awareness of how race, gender, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the early childhood classroom.
While many Associate candidates have one or two years of student teaching experience in independent/charter/public schools and have obtained or are working towards a Master’s degree, we also welcome qualified mid-career changers with limited classroom experience.
If you are flexible in thinking, interested in contributing to conversations about instruction and curriculum, and have experience with technology (for example, SmartBoard, Zoom, Seesaw, Google Classroom, etc.), please submit a cover letter and resume.
An Equal Opportunity Employer, Trinity School seeks candidates who will add to the diversity of our school community. More than this, Trinity is expressly committed to becoming an anti-racist institution and is calling on all members of its community to join in this important work.
Applications will be reviewed beginning, Monday, January 6, 2025.
The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $72,000 and is based upon several factors that include, but are not limited to, the candidate’s work experience, education, and training.
Trinity School is a college preparatory, coeducational independent day school for Grades K-12, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Founded as a charity school at Trinity Church in 1709 for 40 students, it moved to its current location in 1895 and now has an average enrollment of 1,000. Trinity is no longer sponsored by a specific religious body, and the Trinity community is characterized by religious, racial, and ethnic diversity. Since its founding, Trinity has continued its commitment to enroll a talented, motivated, and diverse student body from every economic and social background by providing over $4.5 million in financial aid to students at all grades. The school is organized into a Lower School (K-Grade 4), a Middle School (Grades 5-8) and an Upper School (Grades 9-12). The ratio of students to teachers is six to one. The faculty members of the school, with over 20 doctorates and 96 master's degrees from selective colleges and universities around the world, are extraordinarily talented and dedicated. Conversation between students and teachers is the essence of the Trinity education.
