Malden Catholic, a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Codivisional Middle and High School for young men and women, seeks a candidate for a 7th and 8th Grade School Nurse position for the 2025-2026 school year. The nurse will provide nursing services to students who seek care in the nursing office located at 50 Crystal Street. The nurse will assess and treat students according to scope of practice, as well as triage students to a higher level of care as needed. The nurse will work as a member of the nursing team to provide comprehensive care to the students at Malden Catholic. The nurse will work specifically with counseling and athletic training to help provide multi-faceted support to care for the whole student. The nurse will communicate with students and parents regarding health care needs and recommendations in a timely manner and with the student’s health and safety as the priority. Skills/Qualifications: •Valid current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth ofMassachusetts. •Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing program •Current Mass CPR certification with AED •Minimum of two years’ experience in school nursing or pediatric and/or adolescent nursing, preferably in a physician’s office or outpatient setting. •Understanding of the developmental needs of school-aged children and adolescents. •Experience in pediatric and adolescent assessment. •Ability to function independently within the limits of RN practice and seek help appropriately from physicians and other staff nurses. •Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in interactions with children and adolescents. Competencies •Proficiency in nursing assessment, treatment and triage within scope of practice. •Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills. •Demonstrated ability to use computers and basic understanding of and/or experience with electronic health records. •Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies. •Understanding of confidentiality and related issues. •Receptive to supervision and professional development. •Must be able to move around the Malden Catholic campus without restriction. •Must be able to assist students with mobility issues and move about buildings with multiple staircases. •Ability to create a culturally responsive nurse’s office that fosters a sense of belonging and ensures that all students feel respected. •Commitment to working collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents •Must be able to work shifts as scheduled, understanding that this position includes hours that are considered essential. •Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community. •Model the Catholic values of the school.
